Maximum Ride (usually known simply as Max) and the flock are no ordinary kids. They're actually human/avian hybrids who are in essence humans, but with superhuman powers and the ability to fly because of their wings. They were created in a laboratory referred to as "The School" where callous and malevolent scientists working for a company named 'Itex' conducted highly illegal, gruesome and often painful experiments on innocent humans and animals alike which involved mixing the genes of different species together.
This novel, mainly focuses on Max and the rest of the flock rising up against global warming. After being recommended for the job by Max's newly found parents, Dr.Martinez and Jeb Batchelder, Max and the flock set off on a trip to Antarctica where they work alongside a group of environmental scientists who are gathering data about global warming. Fortunately, the research scientists don't seem dangerous like the ones the flock is used to dealing with ,however, when one of the scientists turn out to be a traitor, imminent danger is once again confirmed.
As always, enemies are lurking everywhere...
Although I wouldn't really suggest you to read this novel, I do strongly recommend you to read the first book in the series. Unlike this novel, the first novel which is called "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment" is much more interesting, with more suspense and some humour.
For those of you who aren't particularly fond of reading, I can assure you that the chapters are never very long and are usually action-packed.
i think you are right about the concept of repetition in a series of books, but i am going to try and find the first book if you highly recommend it.
ReplyDeletethank you for warning me about the book.
