The Collector

This book is written by John Fowels. Now before you read what this book is about i just want you to know that just because im blogging about it that does not mean in any shape or form i am advising you to read it. It is SIRIOUSLY SCARY but not the way you would expect it to be and the ending is the worst part. It is not scary as in 'blood and guts' scary, this book gets inside yoru brain and messes with it. It makes you really anxious and when you read it you become really paranoid and flinch and every sounds that goes on around you. For the whole time you also feel like somebodies watching you.. like youre not supposed to be reading this book. The only reason i read it is that my dad forced me to (i also had run out of book sto read at the time) he said (i quote) "this book would really improve your vocabulairy and writting skills". Well i suppose it did improve them a bit but its not worth it.
Basically, this book is split into tree sections. The guys point of view, the girls point of view and the ending. The plot of this book is that theres is psycopathic guy and he is obssesed with collecting butterflies. He collects them from all around the world. Then one day he sees this girl named Miranda and falls completely in love with her but he doesnt make his move just yet. For years he studies her, just like a speciment, he stalks her kind of. He follows all day long (without her noticing) and finds out where she goes to college, where her part time job is.. etc. Then one day she gets a boyfriend and that really gets him started because in his mind they're already in love but she doesnt know it yet and all he has to do is trigger her love for him (???!!!?)
Finally he makes his move. He kidnaps Mirranda, he collects her, and imprisons her inside a basement where he studies her.
Thats all im gonna tell you.. If you're really desperate you can read the book but i warned you already so dont blame me if you cant sleep at night.
