Brian Jacques: Mariel of Redwall

The young mousemaid Mariel is washed up on a shore in Mossflower, half-drowned, battered and bruised but still living. She finds her way to Redwall Abbey where her memory slowly comes back and her tragic past of badgers, fighting hares and Gabool the Wild gradually unfolds.
