Dark Secrets 1 by Elizabeth Chandler

This novel is a 2-in-1 book so it actually has two stories: Legacy of Lies and Don't Tell.
Legacy of Lies
Megan is summoned to stay with her rather eccentric, paranoid and stony Grandmother and her cousin Matt who resides there at Scarborough House but for some reason, Matt keeps aloof from her the instant she arrives and it's clear he wants her to leave. Then queer things happen, her various possessions in the house are anonymously moved to different locations making her Grandmother accuse Megan even though she's innocent - or at least she believes she is. Strange and terrifying dreams plague Megan at night- could the stories of hauntings be true after all? Somehow, she's tangled in a strange love triangle which dated back to sixty years ago. Did her Grandmother really murder Avril, her own sister who supposedly died of an allergic reaction at the age of 16? What has this mysterious Avril have to do with Megan who's been legally adopted into the family yet bears a striking resemblence to her? But if her suspicions are true then what next?
Don't Tell
Lauren was nine on a visit to Aunt Jule's house when her mother drowned there one night. Seven years has passed, Lauren has finally returned to the place that marks her mother's death. From the moment she sets foot in Wisteria, danger stalks her. Lauren begins to experience everything her mother experienced before the accident, including knots tied everywhere in her belongings and a chilling sense of insecurity, that someone is following her movements. Convinced that someone is trying to kill her, Lauren suspects Nora (Aunt Jule's daughter, one of her childhood friends) who is obssesed with Lauren's mother's death and seems to be suffering from some mental illness is responsible. Or what if there's another person using Nora as a tool? But why?
