The Beckoners by Carrie Mac

When Zoe arrives at Abbotford, she quickly becomes entangled with Beck's gang (the beckoners), a group of sadistic girls who relish in bullying one particular victim- Dog, whose real name is April. Soon enough, Zoe realises that she doesn't want to do anything with the Beckoners anymore after seeing the sort of crowd they hang out with during Beck's party in which she saw a girl being physically harrassed but the huge problem is, the Beckoners aren't going to let her without stirring up lots of trouble. Zoe knows about what they did to another member when she tried to quit and Zoe obviously doesn't want to end up with the same sticky end- shaved bald with the words "Traitor" on her scalp or worse.
This novel was an OK one. The events that ahppen it it are perfectly plausible, bullying is still a big issue in many schools and if you enjoy realistic fiction then you might want to try this if you've nothing else to read.
