This book is by an author named Kristin Cast (an "a" away form being Kristina) and i also recommend it to people who like vampire novels. This is a very unique story about a 16 year old girl called Zoe Redbird that has just been Marked as a fledging vampire. As a result of this she is forced to abandon her old life, family and friends to move to the House of Night. The House of Night is a special school where vampire fledgings train to become adult and mature vampires. That is if she makes through the change of becoming a vampire - not all who were Marked do. Another problem is the fact that to move to the school she must first tell her psycopathic mother and "step-loser" (step father but she hates him so she calls him that) and that could become a problem. But if they dont bite her head off then she is free to move on with her new life at this unfamiliar school.
And thats all im gonna tell you because i dont wanna spoil the story for you and unless you read the book you will never know what happens to her...
