Bloodline by Kate Cary

John Shaw returns from war, ill and feverish from delirium as well as gruesome nightmares of his encounters that involve his former captain, Quincey Harker. He vaguely remembers Harker feeding on the blood of the enemies and the unnatural strength and habits of his CO. John slowly recovers under the tender care of Mary Seward, a nurse who secretly read his journal, and dismisses his memories as hullicinations due to trench fever. All is going well, until Harker appears again at his home and even worse, John's sister Lily falls in love with him! As their relationship becomes increasingly intimate, Lily runs off with Harker to Romania to be wed for eternity. By now, John and Mary's suspicions have been confirmed- they know that Harker is no ordinary man but a vampire, a creature of the night. They don't know exactly what he is planning to do with Lily but if they don't wrestle her from his grasp before St.Andrew's Eve, Lily's soul will be blackened and tainted beyond return.
This novel isn't boring but is extremely unoriginal. There seem to be a lot of novels about vampires nowadays and this one isn't a particularly interesting one, however, if you absolutely love vampire romance stories than maybe you might want to try this.
