In a futuristic world of uglies and pretties, there are also specials. With their cruel beauty, eerily sensitive senses, incredible power in thier muscles and the ability to regenerate dead cells even after a severe injury; they see, feel and hear the world with an amazingly icy clarity and firmly believe that they are superior to anyone else. Tally has become one of them. At first, by force. Now a member of a particular gang of specials called the cutters with Shay as the boss, Tally finally feels that she belongs with them; an extraordinary clique with extraordinary skills although can this one operation truly change her once and for all? Deep inside, something is telling her that it wasn't always like that, that she can change the way she views everything now and go back to who she was before. When an elaborate plan to eventually allow Tally's crippled boyfriend, Zane, to also join the cutters goes horribly wrong, unstoppable events begin to unfold slowly and Tally and Shay will have a heavy responsiblity to cease the chaos that may destroy a city harbouring runaways and rebels.
This is the third novel in Scott Westerfield's "Uglies" series and in my opinion, outstrips the previous novels by far and contains proper, decent fighting scenes, more suspense, twists and the plot is much more exciting than the other two.
